Technical Account Manager

We at Leggett & Platt Automotive are looking for a Technical Account Manager to join our rapidly growing Automotive Team.  In this role, you will actively drive and manage communication, developing relationships and work with the customer with regard to upfront technology solutions.  You will be influential in developing, defining, and executing our strategy to achieve profitable growth objectives. You must be able to identify all future technical and business issues of assigned accounts to develop a customer-supplier partnership.  You will interact heavily with customers, and need to build relationships at all levels within the customer engineering organization, as well as internal relationships with Global Marketing, Sales and Engineering.  If you are looking for a challenging, rewarding opportunity to showcase your technical expertise, we want you!


What you will be doing?


  • Identify and grow successful working relationships within all key technical areas of the customer organization to establish LPA as a technical leader and supplier of choice
  • Understand the customer's business critical projects and their unique workflows
  • Convey customer requirements to Product Management, Sales,  Marketing and Engineering teams  
  • Create and perform technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate key trends across the market and industry including working knowledge of the competitive landscape.
  • Gather necessary industry data analytics on various market segments to support strategic business direction.


We’re looking for someone with:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (MBA a plus)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar technical customer facing role
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • The ability to recognize ongoing disruptive technologies within the industry
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast, complex, global environment, such as working with a cross-functional and geographically dispersed team and customer base.
  • The ability to listen and understand the technical needs of the customer and translate into possible solutions
  • Strong influencing skills and written and verbal communication skills
