Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Quality Engineer for Western Pneumatic Tube in Kirkland, Washington. Western Pneumatic specializes in tubing for commercial and military aerospace.   • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing companies
  • Welding and tube manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Metallurgy, Engineering or related field is required. Master’s degree, preferred
  • AS9100 experience required, with Revision D certification preferred
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Quality Management System AS9100 certification, customer and OEM approvals
  • Lead AS9100, NADCAP, and customer audits
  • Manage internal audits; schedule, monitor performance, review and evaluate internal audits, and follow up on corrective actions and verify their effectiveness. 
  • Lead gap assessment audits and readiness inspections as needed
  • Review and approve Quality System documentation such as Operations Procedures, Work Instructions, Manufacturing Procedures, and specifications
  • Provide technical assistance in the development and implementation of robust processes to meet customer requirements including QA plans and manufacturing plans
  • Introduce and utilize appropriate quality tools to evaluate product and process performance such as, Pareto charts, trend analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process maps
  • Generate, review and approve process validation test plans, protocols and reports; ensure validation results demonstrate compliance to customer requirements
  • Identify non-conformances, and apply root cause analysis and corrective actions in order to meet strategic objectives
  • Monitor MRB along with timely disposition of suspect product
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Production, Sales, Planning and Continuous Improvement) to drive corrective action and customer assistance
