Global Services Analyst (Development Program)

Leggett & Platt Global Services (LPGS), the international procurement division of an S&P 500 Company – Leggett & Platt, Inc., is seeking a Global Services Analyst to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and self-motivated individual looking to gain experience in a growing, global company.

 

The Global Services Analyst participates in a rotational program that provides accelerated exposure and experience across LPGS’s key operations, specifically: Accounts Payable, Customs Trade Compliance and Trade Program Management.  These functional areas are responsible for the delivery of dedicated import source-to-pay and Customs compliance support for our L&P partners. 

 

The program is two years in duration, with approximately 8 months spent in each area of specialization, culminating in a capstone project with an international focus.  Analysts who successfully complete this program will be placed in a role and area of concentration that aligns with their strengths as well as the operational needs of LPGS.

 

Responsibilities

General

  • Consult with and inform business partners regarding international trade requirements and opportunities
  • Support internal operational activities, including: documentation (SOP’s, Controlled docs), analytics and reporting
  • Participate in other LPGS, Corporate or business unit initiatives as needed

International Accounts Payable

  • Audit and process invoices for international transactions; research and ensure proper general ledger coding and supporting documentation
  • Reconcile vendor statements and communicate payment details to related partners
  • Investigate and resolve payment disputes with trade suppliers
  • Review AP reporting to monitor transaction status and resolve issues as needed

Customs Trade Compliance

  • Monitor, review and process Advanced Shipment Notifications and Importer Security Filings
  • Maintain import products in our trade compliance system and customs broker software
  • Audit customs broker packet to ensure appropriate declarations on the U.S. Customs entry
  • Develop knowledge of HTSUS, C-TPAT and other Customs compliance obligations

 

Trade Program Management

  • Pre-screen and maintain import purchase orders for Customs compliance and other import requirements
  • Help assure on-time supply of imported goods; monitor and report on import order status and help troubleshoot and resolve any supply issues
  • Support international sourcing and supplier qualification and performance activities
  • Collect and analyze data for monthly and quarterly metrics, as well as ad hoc analytical and reporting needs

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. (Business, Accounting/Finance, Supply Chain or another related field preferred)
  • Sets high personal standards for performance and takes ownership while serving the needs of business partners
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Resourceful problem-solver with a strong analytical acumen
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient in MS Office with an aptitude for learning new systems
     
    This position is located in our downtown Loop office.
