SUMMARY:

Flex-O-Lators, a division of Leggett & Platt, Inc. has an immediate part-time opening for a Project Coordinator to work during the 1st shift (5:45-14:15). This intern position will assist our engineering group with project coordination and administrative duties involved in the sample department and project management. Ideally, candidates will be looking for a part-time position while pursuing a Business Management or Industrial Engineering degree. This position will work directly with the Project/Program Manager.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for documentation and adherence of APQP, DFMEA & PFMEA requirements per TS 16949 requirements.
  • Assist in the generation of project plans for submission with quotes to communicate potential production dates.
  • Schedule operations with production planning to meet customer timelines.
  • Lead in the program launch generation and maintenance of project plans. Communicate production timelines and responsibilities.
  • Prepare documentation to support product in pre-production and post-production activity.
  • Initiate the label proof process and communicate with Label Generation as necessary. Generate label print screens, if applicable.
  • Track the progress of the production operations against the project plan and advise management of any issues affecting the planned production dates.
  • Schedule and gather documents for release of finished goods.
  • Manages work project schedules and review project budget.
  • Cost new products/applications as needed
  • Maintain product codes
  • Assist customer service clerks and sales staff as needed.
  • Performs any other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Should be working towards a bachelor degree in business management, engineering, technical related degree or relevant work experience
  • Comprehend production process equipment capabilities and application to new product design
  • Ability to supervise and direct others in a professional manner to manage multiple project work schedules, and work in a team environment to interact with employees, customers, and suppliers
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and provide professional quality written and oral communication
  • Ability to understand company products, their capabilities and uses
  • Working knowledge of PCs, spreadsheets, and word processing programs
  • Understand and maintain document-filing systems
  • Willingness to travel and dress in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail oriented
  • Ability to lead and coach individuals and/or teams in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and standard cost systems

 

Our ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Additionally, we need someone with good oral and written communications skills. CAD experience, the ability to read a blueprint as well as an Engineering or Management background are all preferred, but not required.
