Maintenance Purchasing Clerk

Branch One has a newly created part time Maintenance Purchasing Clerk position for day shift.  It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Purchasing Clerk to assist the Parts Room/TPM Superintendent and Maintenance Purchasing Specialist in maintaining inventory accuracy, adequate inventory levels, and processing of all paperwork related to such activities; while providing support to the Branch One Mission and Vision.    The Maintenance Purchasing Clerk must help in maintaining the LP9000 system.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to make valuable decisions regarding purchasing & receiving merchandise.
  • Ability to ten-key efficiently and accurately and have basic keyboarding knowledge in addition to performing basic mathematical functions necessary to perform the job
  • Ability to contain confidential information and records in a professional manner.
  • Mental ability to handle strenuous and complex activity while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and follow the company’s policy and procedures manual.
  • Ability to exemplify a cooperative attitude necessary to work with all department and management teams as well as outside vendors.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Primary Duties:

  • Assist in preparing daily cycle counts for finalization.
  • Keep parts cost updated.
  • Run necessary usage reports daily.
  • Maintain orderly arrangement of all parts and supplies.
  • Safe guarding inventories against theft, preventable waste and unauthorized use.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the position.  I.E. Safety, Quality, and Production.
  • Maintaining and processing accurate inventory records.
  • Identifying slow moving, obsolete, and damaged inventory.
  • Accurately input purchase orders.
  • Maintain tool catalogue and key tool issue sheets.
  • Comply with the company’s policy and procedure manual in all aspects of purchasing and receiving.
  • Key Branch 0079 parts transactions.
  • Maintain files in an orderly fashion.  Pull files as requested.  Move files to storage areas as necessary.  Disposal of confidential documents at assigned locations.
  • Assist and perform Parts Room/TPM Superintendent duties as needed.
  • Cross train to fill in when Parts Room Partners are gone for any reason. 
  • Recognize wrong parts and take the appropriate action to correct the problem.
  • Assist in handling incoming phone calls to Parts Room.
  • Keep all areas neat, organized, and clean.
  • Utilize other sources to find parts needed that are not readily available.
  • Enter and maintain new parts numbers.
  • Design/print stickers as necessary or required.
  • Handle documentation, preparation and packaging of warranty and repair parts.
  • Enter and control OOPS data on a monthly basis

Secondary Duties:

  • Run usage reports for supervisors when needed.
  • Participation in TPM and continuous improvement teams or activities.
  • May be required to perform emergency duties when necessary.
  • Assist with input of inventories.
  • Assist maintaining maintenance scheduling.
  • File complete purchase orders in proper books.
  • Record all required information on purchase orders.
  • Print labels and tag parts.
  • Cycle count parts in stock room as needed, research discrepancies and notify Parts Room/TPM Superintendent.

 

In addition, the Maintenance Purchasing Clerk performs any other tasks related to the operation of this Branch as directed.  This position can require Saturday working hours.
